Review: Your Barbie fan can create home videos with the Barbie
Wireless Video Camera. The frosted-pink camera, which comes with a detachable,
handheld microphone; a tripod; a receiver unit; a universal remote; and a blank
videotape, connects to your TV and VCR to transmit and record home videos. The
camera itself is a compact and sturdy image transmitter, and doesn't actually do
any recording. You'll need your VCR to do that. It's got a viewfinder, an
adjustable hand strap and a built-in condenser mike, as well as a jack for the
external mike. You can use the camera in two ways: to transmit live audio and
video directly to your TV, or to record directly to your VCR while transmitting
to your TV. The camera can be set up on a tripod and the recording can be
controlled with the Barbie universal remote, which can be programmed to work
with most TVs and VCRs. Although this camera can't be used outside or anywhere
there isn't a TV or VCR, it could provide lots of fun at birthday parties and
other family events. Requires six AA and two AAA batteries (included).
