  • Arthur Weasley - Father of the numerous Weasley offspring (including Ron, prefect Percy, and errant twins Fred and George), Arthur Weasley is fascinated by Muggle behaviour and works at the Ministry of Magic. Played by: Mark Williams
  • Lucius Malfoy - The father of Harry's enemy Draco Malfoy, Lucius is a one-time follower of Lord Voldemort and full-time loather of mudbloods (wizards of muggle descent). Played by: Jason Isaacs

Interesting facts about the locations Filmed at

  • Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft is 1000 years old in the book, but as there is no school in the UK that old, the film's creators chose Gloucester Cathedral as their main location.
  • Platform 9 3/4  - the platform where all the wizard children board the Hogwarts Express to school - was filmed at platform 4, London's King's Cross station.
  • London Zoo was the setting for Harry's discovery that he can 'talk' to snakes. While the Australian Embassy became Gringotts Bank for the film
  • Other locations include:
  • No. 12 Picket Close in Bracknell, Berkshire as Harry's room in the cupboard under the stairs, Privet Drive, Little Whinging
    Quidditch matches were filmed at Alnwick Castle, Northumberland
  • Goathland railway station in North Yorkshire became Hogsmeade station



The Chamber of Secrets Movie Info

  • The 9ft Spider used in the film had an 18ft leg span and weighed ¾ of a ton
  • The 3rd movie may be the end for the stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson & Rupert grint, as they are growing up and Daniel is even developing some stubble!

  • Filming the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, there was a 350-strong crew  
  • Filming took place at the Leavesden Studios which is an old aircraft factory where films like Goldeneye, mortal Kombat and Star Wars: the Phantom Menace were also filmed
     
  • A total of 14 Ford Anglia cars were used for the flying and action stages

  •  Candidates to replace the late Richard Harris for the role of Dumbledore in the next film are Peter O'Toole, Joss Ackland & Michael Gambon

Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban

Cast so far!

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson will definitely all be back for the third film, The Prisoner of Azkaban.

  • Gary Oldman plays Sirius Black, the eponymous prisoner whose escape is thought to pose a great threat to Harry Potter;
  • Michael Gambon plays the role of Professor Dumbledore, Hogwarts’ venerable headmaster;
  • Timothy Spall portrays Peter Pettigrew, an old friend of Harry’s father, James Potter, from their days at Hogwarts;
  • David Thewlis plays Professor Lupin, the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor who harbors a mysterious secret;
  • Pam Ferris plays Harry’s overbearing Aunt Marge;
  • Paul Whitehouse portrays Sir Caddogan, a Knight who becomes the temporary guardian of Gryffindor Tower.

Not sure, but according to the bbc website, here in the UK, this is the first picture of the Knight bus!!! It has been spotted in London, before filming has started, isn't it cool?

 Filming The Prisoner of Azkaban Information

This film probably won't be out until November 2004, will let you know more, asap!

Warner Bros, which owns the rights to JK Rowling's child wizard books, will using digital effects and other locations like Glencoe in Scotland for the third film - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, instead of Alnwick Castle and Durham Cathedral that they used in the first two films

The bulk of the new film is to be shot on a closed set at Leavesden Studios in Watford.

External scenes are to be shot in Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands. Filmed in April approx 2003
